I only have a limited budget to spend, can I afford a Website?
Certainly, our Website prices vary from around $300.00 up into the thousands
for an e-commerce site, the overall price depends on the size and complexity
of what you want. If you only require email addresses and a page of
contact details at your domain then this is very reasonably priced, the
bigger the site obviously the more work there is involved. After an initial
phone call
and meeting we will be able to advise you and give you a quote for the
work that would need to be carried out.
Can you register a domain name for me?
At this point in time Quiet Elegance Design does not actually register domain
names direct, we can however register them for you through a third party
or advise you where to go online if you wish to do it yourself.
Do you do Website hosting?
Yes, Quiet Elegance Design can host your Website for you at a very reasonable
rate using the latest Intel Windows 2000 servers with full support for ASP,
Perl, CGI, ISAPI, SHTML and IHTML scripting technologies. We also support
the Microsoft FrontPage 2000 extensions.
Another firm designed my Website but have now gone out of business
leaving my site out of date, can you update it for me?
Yes, we will take over any existing Websites that you may have, and we will
thoroughly assess the site before giving you a quote.
What sort of time frame can I expect from start to finish of my
Website?
The time frame depends on two things, whether the domain name is registered
and hosted, and the information. If the name is not registered and hosted
this can sometimes take up to a week to get sorted out, due to server refreshes
world wide. The main thing we find that slows down the completion of the
site is the information not being ready. After an initial meeting we will
talk through what sections your site requires, once the text, photos and
appropriate graphics are sent to us we can start work. We have never missed
a deadline, BUT we will never sacrifice quality for speed or budget. All
of our Websites are designed
to
the same high
level.
I designed my Website myself, but it now needs some updating, can
you help?
Yes, we offer a complete redesign service, so if your site needs changes
we can do it for you, from making the navigation easier and clearer to a
new
color
scheme and layout Quiet Elegance Design can help
you get the most from your site.
Can you handle the whole Website process for me?
Yes, we can arrange for the domain name to be registered, hosted and
your email addresses set up. Then we will design the Website for you, all
you need to do is supply the text and images for the site and sit back and
let us do the work for you.
After the initial design can you update the Website for me?
Yes, we can update any Website we design, we offer cost per page updates,
cost per hour, yearly contract or we can include it in the price of the
design. Some clients wish to update it themselves and then get us back in
to make major changes or additions when needed, if this is your wish we
will design your Website so that it is as easy as possible for you to do
and we are always on the end of the phone if you need any help.
When my Website is designed who actually owns it?
You do, once final payment has been received the Website belongs to you,
we will send you a CD ROM backup of your web site and you are free to do
whatever you like with it, also if you wish to move it elsewhere at any
time you
are free to do so.
Are there any hidden costs?
No, the quote you receive from us will include everything for the Website
design. If you require updates in the future then unless previously negotiated
these will be subject to an extra charge. Domain names require renewing
every 2 years and hosting is on a yearly basis.
I have a basic html knowledge, could you design a site that I could
then update the text myself?
Certainly, we find many of our clients wish to do so to keep costs down,
all you will require is an ftp program to upload the files and notepad to
change the text. We will discuss this before the site is designed as to
which sections will require updating and make them as easy as possible to
add
and remove
text from. We are always on the other end of the phone if you get out of
your depth or just need reassuring at any point.
I already own a domain name, can you arrange for it to be hosted for me?
Yes, we are happy to sort out the hosting for you, we can host it ourselves
or we are willing to also deal with a local company to your business if
you have one in mind to ensure a smooth transfer.
Will I be able to see my site as it is designed?
Yes, we will send you an email with a link, that is known only to you, this
will enable you to see on a daily basis how your Website is progressing,
this enables you to add or change anything as the site takes shape and keeps
you up-to-date with your Websites status.
